What We Do

THRWD was started by two punks, Javier Valadez Jr. and Lee Escobedo. The vision has become reality. We scour the streets of Dallas in search of fresh talent waiting to break. This magazine is the mic for artists to speak their mind. So spit, snarl, scream or rhyme your vision. Uncensored and uncompromising, THRWD connects the voice of the streets to the lens, canvas, screen, stage and page. We serve as a conduit for artist and community to meet, greet, and repeat.

THRWD was assembled by a group of young professionals with experience in the newspaper and print industry, but fed up with the lack of progressive content and coverage in the city of Dallas. This is as much our magazine as it is yours. We want creative minds that are hardworking and inspired to tackle forward-thinking projects. This means photographers, videographers, writers, artists and designers. If you’re ready, let your voice be heard with THRWD.

THRWD is an advocate for the underexposed, underrepresented artists, scenes and collectives working within the aesthetics of experimental, urban, avant-garde and progressive mediums of visual, musical, written, performance and cinematic arts.
